Backward design is a popular course development model centered on specific, measurable, aligned learning objectives crafted in service of creating rich, student-centered courses that support improved learning outcomes without sacrificing a teacher’s individual expertise and creativity. In this hands-on workshop, faculty will learn the fundamentals of backward design, create an aligned pair of course and module learning objectives, and brainstorm activities, assessments, and materials that support them. Register Workshop 1 in the Sail Through Curriculum Review Series Workshops to plan a student-centered course that incorporates elements central to the APCC's curriculum requirements. Attending all (or most!) sessions is highly encouraged. See the Library's calendar for all workshops. |
