Description | Join us for the third town hall around artificial intelligence. Discussion topics are being planned and may include: - Options for educating UW students in AI technologies (microcredentials, AI minors, AI certificates, etc.).
- Expanding AI literacy across disciplines: What strategies can be implemented to provide AI literacy to all students, regardless of their major?
- Creating inclusive AI education programs: How can we ensure that AI education at UW is inclusive, attracting and supporting underrepresented groups in AI fields?
The town hall will include breakout sessions for small group discussion and time for Q&A. Earlier this year, President Cauce and Provost Serio launched an AI Task Force to imagine a bold vision for the UW that leverages our leadership in artificial intelligence research to advance all aspects of our mission. The task force has articulated a framework for this vision, and decisions on our path forward depend on your input. As we shape the University’s vision and strategy for artificial intelligence, it is imperative that each of us — faculty, staff and students — has the opportunity to contribute our thoughts, ideas and concerns about this powerful technology to ensure that the plans we develop match our opportunities and aspirations. We are seeking as many perspectives as possible as we explore AI’s potential and limitations for our teaching, research, work and students’ success. |
