Local artist Aisha Harrison has been commissioned to make a sculpture for the University of Washington Tacoma campus that reflects the community of Tacoma and the idea of belonging. The sculpture, which includes a large round table growing roots, will contain “seeds,” objects made by community members to metaphorically represent the things we want to see grow – actions, goals, and aspirations. We invite you to take your “seat at the table,” and join a workshop at the Tacoma Art Museum to create your seed for this permanent sculpture on the UWT campus. This event is free but space is limited and registration is required. Admission to the museum is free during this event. |
