We invite instructors to consider the potential connections of your spring quarter courses with this event, and the possibilities for encouraging your students’ attendance and participation. In-person participation is encouraged but Zoom is available as well. We will have a table available at the entrance for instructors to use for sign-in sheets, but we will not be able to confirm student participation via Zoom.

Social Justice Visions for Tacoma

The Equity and Inclusion Committee of the School of Social Work and Criminal Justice at the University of Washington Tacoma invites students, faculty, and staff to join an exciting student event centered on social justice in Tacoma. A panel of six esteemed local experts will share their lived experiences as leaders, practitioners, and activists for social justice.

The panelists include Dee Sontag of Lawyers Against Systemic Racism, Tisha Wosencroft of Legally Black, Bunchy Carter of The Black Panther Party, Terrence Howard of Tacoma Ceasefire, Devin Kelly of TDSA, and Jamika Scott of the Tacoma Action Collective. A 30-minute question-and-answer session will follow the 90-minute panel session.
