Why do students plagiarize and how can you prevent it?
WhenTuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Description

We tell students "don't plagiarize!"  However, teaching students not to plagiarize involves much more than just a mechanical understanding of citation styles.  Students need a deeper knowledge of disciplinary values and habits of mind in order to work with sources effectively.  We will discuss why students often find integrating sources difficult and how instructors can model and support the process in their classes.
