Dare to Reduce: Sustainable history of UW Bothell and Wetlands Tour
WhenWednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, 12 – 1 p.m.
Description

Description
UW Bothell has a deeply rooted history which, in its inception, provided a foundation for sustainability to be woven into the fabric of the university and the land that we now inhabit. The crowning jewel of this dedication is our 58-acre wetland, which serves as a rich example of green infrastructure to the region. We pride ourselves on the sense of place that this asset provides, and its ability to offer habitat to a wide variety of native species and act as a living laboratory for our students.

Learn about this history its interconnectedness to sustainability through a conversation with Tyson Kemper (Grounds Supervisor) and Alexa Russo (Sustainability Coordinator), then see it up close and in the mud with our wetlands team.

This event will begin at noon on Wednesday, February 26 in the North Creek Events Center and consist of a presentation followed by a wetlands tour ending at 1:30 p.m. Boots can be provided, but bringing your own boots is preferred.
