How do creative endeavors like writing, painting, dancing, or poetry help address the challenges of memory and aging? Go behind the science with Lee Burnside M.D., geriatrician at UW Harborview Medical Center and medical director of Providence Hospice of Seattle, at a seminar on Memory, Creativity, and Aging—part of the Whole U Speaker Series.

Join Dr. Burnside on Wednesday, September 12 in HUB room 332 from 12:00 - 12:50 PM to explore three core topics:

  • What is healthy aging?
  • How does creativity help with healthy aging?
  • How does one maintain a healthy life in the presence of memory loss?
Dr. Burnside has devoted his career to improving community support and palliative care for persons and families of persons living with dementia. He has a research interest in evaluating the intersection of arts and dementia, particularly in advanced dementia and at the end of life.
