“Shared Decision Making in Barrett’s Esophagus”

Speaker: Rajesh Krishnamoorthi, MD

Bio: Dr. Rajesh Krishnamoorthi is a Gastroenterologist at the Digestive Disease Institute, Virginia Mason Medical Center. He is originally from Chennai, India, and graduated from Madras Medical College. He completed residency training at Wayne State University and served as a Chief Resident of Quality and Patient safety (CRQPS) before pursuing a gastroenterology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester.

Dr. Krishnamoorthi is a recipient of numerous awards including a Mayo Clinic GIH research grant (2014) for developing decision aids for patients with Barrett’s esophagus. He is an associate editor of the BMC Gastroenterology journal and member of several professional committees including American College of Gastroenterology’s (ACG) publication committee.

Dr. Krishnamoorthi is active in clinical and ‘patient centered’ outcomes research, having published over 35 peer-reviewed papers and 50 abstracts in journals such as Gastroenterology, CGH, GIE, and Endoscopy. He has over 20 oral presentations to his credit including two presidential plenaries at ACG meetings. While his research has focused on Barrett's esophagus, his clinical interests include management of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.

“ERCP with Overtube Assisted Enteroscopy in Patients with RYGB Anatomy”

Speaker: Jagpal Klair, MD

Dr. Klair was born and raised in India where he completed medical school. He moved to the US in 2012 and completed a Master’s degree in Tropical Medicine at Tulane University. After his Internal Medicine residency at University of Arkansas, and gastroenterology training at University of Iowa, he feels fortunate to have therapeutic endoscopy training at Virginia Mason Medical Center as the current Advanced Endoscopy fellow. He is presently looking to secure a therapeutic endoscopy appointment.

“Tagging Incidental Finding of Hepatic Steatosis on Ultrasound: A Novel Intervention to Improve Hepatology Referrals and Early Detection of Liver Fibrosis”

Speaker: Navroop Nagra, MD

Dr. Nagra attended medical school at Government Medical college, in Punjab, India (2006–2012). He completed residency and chief residency training at University of Maryland Capital Regional Medical Center, Maryland (2014–2017) and became a Hospitalist at Peacehealth Southwest Medical Center, Vancouver, Washington (2017–2019). Currently, Dr. Nagra is the Hepatology Fellow at Virginia Mason Medical Center.
