Drug War Capitalism & Neoliberal War in Mexico and beyond

In this talk, Dawn Marie Paley will share the key interpretative principles developed in Drug War Capitalism, as well as discussing ongoing violence in Mexico and Latin America today through the lens of neoliberal war.

Dawn Marie Paley is a journalist from Vancouver, British Columbia (Occupied Musqueam, Skwxwú7mesh, and Tsleil Waututh Territories). She’s been based in Mexico since 2011. Drug War Capitalism, her first book, was published by AK Press in November 2014. Dawn has a PhD in Sociology from the Autonomous University of Puebla, Mexico, and a Masters in Journalism from UBC. She has been the editor of Toward Freedom, a web portal for progressive news, since September 2019.
