Dr. Peter Ney (Computer Science)

We are entering a new era of consumer genetic testing and data sharing, and by 2021, it is estimated that over 100 million people will take genetic tests. This trend raises natural questions regarding how we store genetic information and the related data security and privacy risks. Who might try to steal genetic data and why? Is genetic data more sensitive or risky to store than other kinds of data? What might be done, both technically and legally, to minimize these risks? Please come join us as we discuss these questions and more.
