Description

The Poetic Operations Collaborative (POClab) presents Public Design Lab, a workshop hosted at the Institute for New Connotative Action (INCA). The workshop will include members of the POClab discussing the design/art research projects we are currently working on. The projects discussed will include: #stronger, a project that imagines futures of health and strength for trans and gender non-conforming people through speculative app design and social media interventions; and Unstoppable, a collaboration started by micha cárdenas, Patrisse Cullors, Chris Head and Edxie Betts with the goal of creating DIY bulletproof clothing, designed with black trans women as the main audience, in solidarity with #blacklivesmatter. The attendees of this public design lab will have the opportunity to give their feedback and participate in the design process for these two projects.

The POClab Public Design Lab is part of the Seattle Design Festival and the Black Box 3.0 Art + Technology Festival and is generously hosted by INCA.
