Description

Alexandra Gillespie (English, University of Toronto) will present on Palaeography and the Uses of Neuroscience. She is the author of Print Culture and the Medieval Author: Chaucer, Lydgate, and Their Books, 1473-1557 (2006). She is a specialist in manuscript and print culture, the digitization of medieval books, and is the director of the Old Books New Science Lab at the University of Toronto. Siân Echard (English, University of British Columbia) will present on Making and Faking: Facsimile in Premodern Books. Her research interests include Anglo Latin literature, Arthurian literature, John Gower, and manuscript studies and book history. Her most recent book, Printing the Middle Ages (2008), is focused on post-medieval printings of medieval texts.
