Weekly didactic presentations include various topics related to Allergy & Immunology (AI) such as asthma, pathophysiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, guidelines and treatment, as well as basic immunology, immunodeficiency, rhinitis, dermatitis, urticaria, food and drug allergy. Presentations are by invited guest speakers, UWAI fellows, and UW faculty to provide educational value for physicians and healthcare providers in the field to maintain competence and improve standards of care. Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to: - Examine historical perspectives on the evolution of thinking about particular diseases as related to allergy.
- Establish a regional standard of practice in the field of allergy through review of evidence-based medicine.
- Evaluate medical literature critically and remain current in the medical literature of allergy and immunology and related fields.
