Description | The Evergreen State of Washington is justly named, with a lush variety of forests covering much of the western side of the state, but how can one get to know all those trees!? Look no further than this guided tour of the native trees of Washington State, a chance to learn facts, identification, and stories about our native trees, and learn your way around the campus a bit better! Guided by School of Environmental and Forest Sciences alum Theodore Hoss, the tour will depart from outside the entrance of the Burke Museum and work its way around campus to the HUB. The UW campus is home to over 480 species of trees, including many of the 30 species native to the State. Open to people of all levels of interest in trees, and an opportunity to learn about the best forests to visit in the region as well! |
