Ty Williams is a Senior UX Researcher on Reddit’s Safety Insights team, a research and data science group dedicated to uncovering opportunities to keep users safe on the platform. In this role, he leads research for two key product teams: Community Safety, which equips Reddit moderators with tools to protect their communities, and Consumer Safety, which empowers users to safeguard their own experiences online. Ty has worked in both in-house UX roles (Reddit, HBO Max) and consulting (Smashing Ideas), specializing in strategic research for complex and ambiguous problem spaces. Before transitioning into UX, he built an interdisciplinary business background in small businesses and technical recruiting for startups and design agencies. Ty holds an MS in Human-Centered Design and Engineering and a BA in Business Administration, both from the University of Washington. |
