Event sponsors | Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the human ability to recognize, understand, exploit, and manage one’s emotions positively. Students, faculty, and staff with high EQs are less stressed, better communicators, more empathetic, and more easily overcome challenges. Moreover, they know precisely how their mental state influences the emotional reactions of those around them. This will be a breakdown of EQ in our environment where breakout rooms will be used to have a discussion-based interaction.
Note: "LatinX in Stem" has been rescheduled for February. More information coming soon.

| | Description | We live in a complex world where science and technology do not exist and cannot be taught in a vacuum. Traditionally, the movers and shakers in the myriad STEM fields have not been BIPOC and women. With this in mind and an eye toward the future, how can LatinX students and young scientists navigate STEM spaces that were not built with them in mind?
