Molecular Engineering and Sciences Seminar Series
Designing Novel Protein Structures and Complexes with Rosetta
Abstract:  The talk will summarize three projects focused on the development and application of Rosetta to protein design: (1) the use of multi-state design protocols to create bispecific antibodies that can bind two antigens simultaneously, (2) the engineering of light-responsive proteins that can be used to recruit proteins to specific locations in the cell, and (3) the de novo design of new protein structures from pieces of naturally occurring proteins. Improvements to a standard protocol in Rosetta for flexible backbone design, FastDesign, will also be discussed.

This weekly seminar brings together students, faculty and invited guests from various disciplines across campus to explore current trends in molecular engineering and nanotechnology. It is a forum for active interdisciplinary discussions. These talks are open to the public and attract a diverse audience of students and faculty.…
