User Experience Design for Kids (HCDE 418)
Instructor: Julie Kientz, associate professor

Each quarter, select HCDE courses host an end-of-quarter event to showcase student work from the quarter.

This course showcase will feature 14 student group projects ranging from a wide variety of topics, age ranges, and form factors, with sponsors including Seattle Children’s, the School of Nursing, and Seattle Academy’s board game club.

Some of the projects include soft, interactive toys for toddlers, iPad apps for kids with cochlear implants, board games and apps for teaching government to middle schoolers, a mystery app for teaching pre-teens about menstrual periods, an interactive floor game for encouraging indoor physical activity, and a social robot for reducing stress in high schoolers.

All members of the HCDE and UW community are welcome to attend.

Light refreshments will be provided.
