Design: For Good or Evil?
"To light a candle is to cast a shadow," wrote famed science fiction author Ursula Le Guin. Even in a field as user-centered as UX design, we sometimes do evil while attempting to do good.  Whether it’s social media leading to isolation, gamification leading to addiction, or freedom of information leading to fake news, our good intentions can have unintended consequences.

This year, World Usability Day is taking this on. Our expert speakers are doing cutting-edge work to redesign products, technologies, and systems for a better world. Join us on November 8, 2018 at Seattle’s Swedish Club to learn how the practices of user experience design can disrupt evil and enable good in the technology industry and beyond.
