Please join the department of Human Centered Design & Engineering for our annual 10-week seminar series on User Experience (UX), where we welcome industry experts to speak about current issues and research in the field.

Each 40-minute talk will be filmed and will be followed by a Q&A session. Videos of the talks are posted to this web page within one business day of the presentation. Students may register for credit with course HCDE 521. Members of the University of Washington community are welcome to attend.

Life After HCDE: User-Centered Design, Consulting, and Clients

You’ve graduated from HCDE and have now been assigned to your first design project for a client. What happens next? In this talk, Rohit will share his story of joining a Seattle design consultancy after finishing his master’s in HCDE, and completing a large project to transform a company’s way of doing business. He will talk about how HCDE is applied to client projects, working in agile software development, and what he wishes he paid more attention to while in school.
