Description | Join the data visualization track the week of August 9-13th to learn about the fundamentals of collecting, cleaning, and visualizing data. We will create our own visualizations using open source, in browser data visualization tools. This track will best serve those who have little or no background in data visualization. You will have the opportunity to engage in asynchronous discussions and two synchronous sessions with your cohort. Cohort members are expected to contribute 8-10 hours a week working through asynchronous content with 2 hours of synchronous meeting time together. Please be sure you can attend the synchronous sessions before registering for the Cohort option. - Synchronous sessions: August 9, 12-1 pm Pacific and August 12, 9-10 am Pacific
If you are unable to join the synchronous sessions, please sign up for our Learn on Demand option and we'll send the workshop materials out to you in August for you to work through on a schedule that best suits you.Open Scholarship can take many forms. In the Open Scholarship Summer Series (OSSS), we’re exploring the concepts of creating new knowledge through open source tools with the option to share these products openly. We are excited to launch this new series as a joint effort of the Libraries’ Open Scholarship Commons and Research Commons. |
