Walter McConnell has shown his installations of moist clay at The Denver Art Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, MASS MoCA in North Adams, the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art in Missouri, the University of Colorado Art Museum in Boulder, and SOFA [Sculpture Objects and Functional Art], New York. He has exhibited internationally in Sweden, the Netherlands, Taiwan, China, and Korea.

There's almost 30% water in clay; if you put heat in there you get this marvelous slow circulation: the clay is like a fountain... the water is drawn out of the clay and then falls in condensation, it streams down the plastic: there's this constant cycle.
