Description | Explore opportunities in northern Spain through the UW León Center! with Santos Rodriguez, Jerry Baldasty and Randy Beam There are wonderful opportunities (and facilities) in León, Spain to organize study abroad programs for students, collaborate with local businesses or the University of Leon, and access the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Santos Rodríguez, on-site coordinator of the UW León Center, will provide information on creating and leading programs there. Accompanying Santos will be two UW emeriti professors who have taught multiple times at UW León, Randy Beam and Jerry Baldasty. For students, Leon offers an immersion experience: they take UW courses (in English) while studying Spanish and living with a local family. Most study abroad programs in León include short excursions (for a day, weekend, or longer), exposing students to interesting and highly educational sites in the country. About 1,400 UW students have studied in León in the past decade. Study abroad programs in León include summer programs (ranging from 3 to 8 weeks) as well as quarter-long programs during the regular academic year. Join us to explore your ideas for new programming! |
