Description | Did you resolve to read more this year? To sharpen your mind, build more community, or have more fun? Do we have news for you! Career Services is delighted to invite you to a Bring Your Own Book lunchtime event on Wednesday, February 21st from 12-1pm in UW1-103. Here’s the premise: You bring a book, article, podcast, or something that’s made you think recently. (Bring your lunch too, if you’d like!) Sit next to someone you don’t know, and in pairs or small groups, we’ll discuss what we’ve been reading and learning about lately. It’s a great way to connect with people on campus you wouldn’t ordinarily get the chance to, as well as learn from our campus community – and maybe even walk away with some new reading/learning topics of interest. The best part? It’s like book club without the stress of preparing. Just show up and have some reading or learning material to discuss! Material can be anything (scifi, comedy, poetry, biography, pop culture, etc.) as long as it is work/school appropriate and invites respectful discourse. |
