UW Bothell Census Kick Off Day
UW Bothell Census Kick Off Day
WhenTuesday, May 5, 2020, 4 – 7:30 p.m.

Join UW Bothell Census Kick Off Day on May 5th! The United States does a population count every 10 years. This exercise is called the Census, and it serves as the basis for planning and distributing political power and economic resources for the next 10 years. Come hear from featured speakers Patricia Whitefoot, Yakima Nation, and Varisha Khan, Redmond City Council, and Maya Manus from Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle about the racial implications of the Census Count. Then we will hear from three University of Washington Bothell alumni about the importance of the census to their work and personal lives. Enjoy chatting with guest speakers and alumni over dinner, filling out the census with a census representative, winning prizes, and getting your photo taken at the “count me in” photo booth! UW Bothell and Cascadia students, staff, and faculty are welcome to this event. The event is also open to community members.
