Writers Workshop Series: Session #4
WhenFriday, May 17, 2019, 9 – 11 a.m.
Description

It's Spring! Time to start writing that grant proposal or academic paper you’ve been saving for “later.” Good news! “Later” begins on Friday, April 5 with the first of eight meetings that will help you craft your submission by mid-summer. Join our Office of Research staff and your faculty peers for our writers workshop series. Come to one, some or all of the sessions! Bring your solicitation, outline, or just an idea and we’ll get you going with whatever support you need. We’ll meet every other week on the following schedule of Fridays:

Apr  5     9-11 AM   UW1-361 - Crafting your submission
Apr  19   9-11 AM   UW1-361 - Research administration overview
May 3     9-11 AM   UW1-361 - Creating compelling figures/tables
May 17   9-11 AM   UW1-370 - Broad Impact Narrative Development
May 31   9-11 AM   UW1-361 - UW Resources/ Review Success Proposal
Jun  14   9-11 AM   UW1-361 - Developing Logic Model/Eval Resources
Jun  28   9-11 AM   UW1-361 - Mock Review Panel & Celebration

This series used to be targeted to those submitting an NSF CAREER proposal or responding to other NSF solicitations. We welcome all of you back again, AND we welcome writers of all disciplines and all types of submissions – from grant proposals to your scholarly article or book chapter. Past participants have valued the feedback provided by other faculty members and Office of Research staff and suggested that we convene this series in a writers workshop style that caters to a wider UWB audience. Bring your drafts, exchange them with your peers, and provide one another feedback while learning about your colleagues’ research. Office of Research staff will be around to provide help with analysis of your RFP, generation of your budget and budget justification, design of your broader impacts, answering questions about submission, and editing for construction and style. As your product becomes more polished, we’ll even convene mock review panels for those who want them.

Go to the date on the campus calendar of any/all sessions of the workshops you plan to attend and register today!
