Asteroid Mining for the Modern Woman

Holly Gummelt is a recent graduate from the University of Washington, Bothell with an undergraduate degree in Physics. For the past five months she has been working at Planetary Resources, an asteroid mining company in Redmond, WA. While working there, she has been researching and designing instrumentation for an asteroid rendezvous, conducting prototype testing and thermal modelling, and studying the chemistry and mineralogy of meteorites.

In January, she will begin attending the Seattle campus to earn a Masters of Science in Engineering and hopes to work for an aerospace company after graduation.
