Imposter syndrome. Stereotypes. Culture. For many reasons, lots of us feel uncomfortable sharing our achievements. A study conducted by Harvard Business Review found a large gender gap in self-promotion — with men rating their performance 33% higher than equally performing women. Because self-assessment and promotion are critical across professional and entrepreneurial settings, we invite you to join WE Lead for #IamRemarkable, a workshop that amplifies stories and research on the transformative power of self-promotion, where you can develop the inspiration and practice the skill of sharing your accomplishments. #IAmRemarkable is a global movement striving to empower all of us to celebrate our achievements in the workplace and beyond, while challenging the social perception around self-promotion. In this interactive session, you'll participate in group discussions and exercises to increase your comfort and confidence in self-promotion. During this workshop we will: - Reflect on our own limiting beliefs on self-promotion.
- Share data and research regarding self-promotion and bias.
- Go through the main exercise to help you identify and share your achievements.
- Wrap up with discussion and take home exercises.
Space is limited for this workshop, and we will keep a waitlist – please register only if you are a currently enrolled UW Student, and are able to attend in person for the full event. |
