Description | Maggie Leland JD, MSPH Maggie Leland is the Policy Director for Washington Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) working in its Governmental Affairs and Policy Division. In this role, Maggie provides strategic advice on policy issues and leads efforts to find collaborative and creative solutions to further L&I’s mission to Keep Washington Safe and Working. Maggie also worked in L&I’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). Prior to joining at L&I, Maggie was an Assistant Attorney General for the L&I Division representing L&I in litigation and serving as advisor to L&I DOSH. Before becoming an attorney, Maggie spent many years working as an occupational health and safety professional in both the private and public sector. Maggie earned her law degree from Seattle University and her Master of Science in Public Health in Industrial Hygiene from San Diego State University. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association. In addition, she won the Excellence in Washington State Government Leadership Award for L&I in 2024.
