Description | With summer coming, what better time to learn about how trees can adapt to take the heat! The state of California, with its steep mountains, deserts, extensive coastline, and wide variety of habitats, has an amazing array of tree species, many of them well suited for warm dry environments. This walking tour of campus will share identification tips, natural history, fun facts, and dive into the connections we as humans have with these trees. We will also discuss how California's native trees may become more common in our own city in the future of Climate Change. Bring your tree questions and friends, this walking tour is free and open to the public. The tour will last for about 2 hours, and will take place outdoors (so please dress for the weather). Questions may be emailed to tdhoss@uw.edu. |
