Founded in 2009, the Beacon Food Forest operates a 3.5 acre food ecosystem on land owned by the Department of Public Utilities in Seattle’s Beacon Hill Neighborhood. Join us for a conversation with Khalil Griffith – Site and Programs Director – to learn more about the history of Beacon Food Forest, their current work, and the organization’s vision for expansion in the future. We will also discuss strategies for effectively co-managing land and programming across multiple groups and agencies. Beacon Food Forest is a fantastic example of utilizing urban green space for community-driven food sovereignty and climate justice work, and we hope you will join us for this conversation!
Thank you to the Arboretum Foundation for sponsoring this lecture. |
