In this talk, Gowri will discuss the fundamentals of sales for early stage startups: How to build a foundation for sales process; developing a sales operation; and measuring metrics. How do you make everybody a salesperson? What do you look for in your first sales hire and when to bring on a manager. This session will focus on the basics of the sales functions, process, measurement and team.

Gowri Shankar
Gowri Shankar has over two decades of experience in growing companies in the confluence Enterprise Software, Media and Telecom. He is a sales professional who has led companies thru transformational growth in North America, Europe and India. He has been mentoring and investing in companies thru TiE Seattle, Z5 Catalyst and Naya Ventures for the last 7 years. Gowri serves on company boards and the board of TiE Seattle. From raising capital to scaling to exit strategies, these seasoned guest speakers deliver valuable content designed to help startups and entrepreneurs thrive. Lectures are typically 30-40 mins, followed by open Q&A.

Each lecture is filmed, live streamed and archived on CoMotion’s Startup Training Videos page.

Light refreshments will be served. These lectures are open to the public and you do not have to be currently affiliated with the UW or a startup to join, but please pre-register. We hope to see you there!
