Description

Enjoy FREE FOOD, meet new friends, and be dazzled by amazing feature poets and open mic performers! Join us for the second annual UW Dawg Daze Social Justice Poetry Jam.

All are welcome to perform during open mic (on a space available first-come, first-serve basis). We encourage and support walk-in talent to perform their original work, by providing a platform for expression free from oppression. Performers are asked to focus on issues including but not limited to: community, identity, equity, social justice and social change. This year's theme is community, and we encourage performers to share what community means to them. We welcome all, and will strive to make this a safe, inclusive space.

This is a UW Dawg Daze event, hosted by the UW School of Social Work and the Departments of American Ethnic Studies; American Indian Studies; Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies; Geography; and Law, Societies & Justice.

RSVP (via Facebook) is requested but not required:
