Description

Social work is social change! Interested in learning more about UW's Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare or Master of Social Work programs?  Join us for drop-in hours (no appointment needed) on most Thursdays from 10:00-12:00 or 1:00-3:00 in Room 023 (ground floor) of the School of Social Work building on the UW Seattle campus.

No appointments are necessary during these Thursday drop-in hours.  Prospective students who are interested in setting up an appointment for a different day or time are welcome to call 206-543-5676 to schedule an appointment for a different day.

Social workers help people and work to enhance the quality of life for all – especially those who are vulnerable and oppressed. They serve as mental health counselors, hospital and school social workers, immigrant & refugee allies, community activists, nonprofit leaders, policy advocates and more. They value a person-in-environment, equity-driven systems approach and employ a uniquely holistic, strengths-based social work lens rooted in social justice activism. Social work is social change!

BA in Social Welfare applications are available in February annually, with an April 15th deadline to apply (cohort begins each September, autumn start only). Master of Social Work applications are available in October annually, with an early January deadline to apply (MSW Day and MSW Extended Degree Program cohorts begin each September, autumn start only / MSW Advanced Standing cohort begins in July).
