Description

Flood management policies are changing, with emphasis shifting from controlling water flow to living with floods.  A pilot project implemented successfully in An Giang Province illustrates how various stakeholders have been interacting to cope with impacts while sustaining livelihood. Dr. Sinh will address these topics and how local knowledge shapes methods of managing flood risk.
Dr. Sinh is the chief of the Division of Journal and Publication, Department of Science Administration and Training at the Vietnam Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation. (VISTI). He received his PhD in Social Environmental Science from Aalborg University, Denmark, and his MA in Science and Technology Policy from the Research Policy Institute, University of  Lund, Sweden.
