Description

Join us for a performance and discussion exploring questions of authenticity and essentialization regarding contemporary Indigenous performance! The theme of the performance is resistance through practicing and reclaiming traditional subsistence.

Haliehana "Alagum Ayagaa" Stepetin (Unangax, UWB Graduate Student, BHC Regional Outreach Coordinator) created this multi-medium, multi-cultural contemporary performance in accordance with her Master's Degree Capstone. Collaborators and performers include: Sara Siestreem (Hanis Coos), Arlie "Hataalii Chee" Neskahi (Dine'), Sierra Campbell (Apsáalooke/Mexican), Delia Gomez (Yaqui/Mexican), and Dustin "Unignax" Newman (Unangax/Deg Hit'an).

THIS IS A POTLUCK, SO WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO BRING YOUR FAVORITE INDIGENOUS DISH AND YOUR DRUM
