Description | Tai Chi is an ideal aerobic exercise for any age and can be practiced for a lifetime. Tai Chi helps maintains spine health and increases bone density. It is beneficial to the cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, and digestive systems, while also improving balance and the circulation of chi, an energy force that underlies traditional Chinese medicine and martial arts. The Whole U has partnered with the Confucius Institute of the State of Washington (UW) to offer a free Yang Style Tai Chi class in the Winter quarter, 2018. The one o’clock class session will cover authentic Yang Style Tai Chi, giving in-depth, step-by-step instruction on the 24 form movements and Qigong warm-ups. This class will help improve skills of self-centering, body relaxation, and slow breathing while practicing form movements. Increased flexibility, leg strength, coordination, and balance can be expected long with learning relaxation skills in an energetic way. |
