Description

Erkin Koray, widely regarded as one of the first people to bring rock and roll to Turkey, will present a lecture on Anatolian Rock and his role in the Turkish music scene.  Anatolian Rock is an amalgam of local (Turkish) and international (Rock) genres with its performers making intertextual connections both to the past and the present.  Erkin Koray songs and use of the electric bağlama set the high water mark for Anatolian Rock for decades.

This event is FREE and open to the public.

Please note, this will be a lecture and not a music performance.

Parking at the University of Washington's Central Garage is Free on Saturday after 12:00 PM.
