With origins from indigenous New Zealand Maori communities, the overarching use of the term Restorative Justice aims to help build a sense of human connection. Techniques can vary in their implementation and deliverance, but they all contain the central tenants of discovering as an entire community. Nina Triffleman has been a part of the Seattle Restorative Justice community since its inception and continues to work independently and in collaboration with communities in juvenile justice facilities, public schools, and various groups around Seattle and beyond, to help implement Restorative Justice. This workshop will provide all who attend, a chance to walk away with some tangible skills and basic understanding for further work in the use of Restorative Justice in their communities.
